About Us

Lisa and Lea Cohn have been writing the Bash and Lucy books and producing Bash and Lucy audiobooks since 2013, when Lea was five years old. Heather Nichols has illustrated all the Bash and Lucy books. Our audiobook readers have ranged in age from 5 to 82!

Lisa Cohn is an award-winning writer who has published stories in the Christian Science Monitor, Huffington Post, Mothering, Yahoo! Parenting, Brain, Child: The Magazine For Thinking Mothers,  Horizon Air, Mother Earth News, Dogster and other publications. She started writing the first Bash and Lucy book, Bash and Lucy Fetch Confidence, after the family dog, Lucy, died suddenly at the age of 6. Lea, a 5-year-old book lover at the time, asked if she could help, and then became the marketing and public relations engine for the project. Lisa is the narrator in all the Bash and Lucy audiobooks.

Lea Cohn, now 17, appeared on the Today Show when she was 5-years-old in a piece about her YouTube book reviews and involvement in the Bash and Lucy project. She has also appeared on AM Northwest, Portland Today, KATU-TV and in the Oregonian, Portland Tribune, in Disney’s Babble and other media. She is the voice of Bash in the first three Bash and Lucy audiobooks. She also helped create the dream beast illustrations for Bash and Lucy Fetch Team and the Dream Beasts and came up with the cover concept for Bash and Lucy Say, “Love, Love Bark!

She also co-founded, along with Lisa, the Roving Reader Leaders, a book club.

Vera Moroz–Vera

Vera grew up in Soviet-occupied Ukraine, in the village of Cherkasy, where she was born in 1942. She embodies strength, goodness, kindness, and intelligence–just like the Vera in Bash and Lucy Say, “Love, Love, Bark.

When Vera turned six, her mother convinced the local teacher to let Vera attend school, in part because the bright young girl demanded it. Conditions were dismal. “The school was half-broken, only one big room. We had one long table and there was fourteen children, different ages,” said Vera.

Vera, a grandmother, now studies English, sells home-made food, and babysits to raise money for Ukrainians hurt by conflict.

Avery has performed in numerous theatrical productions. Some of their recent roles include Wolf in Into the Woods, Underling in Drowsy Chaperone Jr the Musical, Teen Fiona in Shrek Jr the Musical, and Regina in Rock of Ages Jr the Musical.  They have been singing and playing piano for years and were very excited to try voice acting for the first time in Bash and Lucy Say, “Love, Love, Bark!”

Sunny has performed in a number of plays, including Alice in Alice in Wonderland, Derrick McCreedy in Nancy Drew and the Case of the Missing Letter, Milky White in Into the Woods, and Ensemble in The Drowsy Chaperone Jr. the Musical. She has also taken piano, singing, and dancing lessons. Sunny was very excited to be performing in her first audiobook!
